沿革

1. 1944Under wartime industrial consolidation, eight sake breweries at the southern tip of Iwate's coast (the old Kesen district) merged to form Kesen Shuzo, the predecessor of Suisen Shuzo (founded September 26, 1944).
2. 2011At 2:46 PM on March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck; the ensuing tsunami destroyed and washed away the entire head office brewery, including a four-story wooden warehouse.
3. 2011About six months after the disaster, around September, brewing resumed using facilities borrowed from fellow brewer Iwate Meijo.
4. 2012In March, construction of a new factory began in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture.
5. 2012In August, brewing began at the new factory in Ofunato.
