Kimmonryogoku

Kakuboshi Co., Ltd. was founded in 1905 in Kesennuma, a coastal city in Miyagi Prefecture, where local seafood culture shapes the brewery's brewing philosophy: sakes with aroma and flavor that complement rather than overpower fresh fish. The brewery survived the devastating 2011 earthquake, which damaged its historic building, and was fully rebuilt and reopened in May 2016, with the structure retaining its status as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. Kimmonryogoku is the house brand, and its yuzu variant blends locally sourced Kesennuma yuzu juice with the brewery's Tokubetsu Honjozo base sake.
