Makino Shuzo, founded in 1743 in Fujinomiya City at the foot of Mount Fuji, holds one of only two licenses in Shizuoka Prefecture to use the name Fujisan as a brand. Spring water blessed by the mountain's snowmelt serves as the brewing water, and the brewery produces both the Fujisan and Shiraito labels with styles ranging from dry honjozo to fruit-forward junmai ginjo.
