Buko Shuzo is a sake brewery in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, whose current building is approximately 190 years old and has been designated a national tangible cultural heritage. The brewery draws its brewing water from a well fed by Mount Buko-san, the sacred peak that gives the brand its name, connecting each batch to the mountain landscape that defines this corner of Saitama. Chichibu and the surrounding area is home to 35 breweries, and Buko Shuzo is among the most historically grounded of them.
