元禄3年(1690年),初代长兵卫开始酿造日本酒,江户时代历代以"长盛"为品牌名。当幕府勘定奉行小栗上野介赴美归国后,先祖举杯庆贺,以大盃相迎,遂将酒名更改为"大盃",延续至今。
