位于新潟县南部的津南町是著名的豪雪地带,霧の塔等2000米级山峰的积雪融水成为水源,孕育出荣选"名水百选"的清澈丰沛之水。这股天然泉水是超软水,被誉为"细腻圆润的水",作为藏元用水使用。酒藏于1996年由当地酒米农家、町政府及JA联合创立,以津南町当地农家栽培的酒米"五百万石"为原料,与可见其面孔的农家共同酿造清酒。
