Founded in 1762 in Takamori Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, Yamamura Shuzo has brewed Reizan for over 260 years at an elevation of roughly 550 meters on the outer rim of Mount Aso. The name honors the volcano itself, historically revered as a sacred mountain, and the sake reflects that environment: cool winters, pure mountain water, and a clean, dry character that has made it a beloved local table sake for generations.
