Kamimusubi

Kamimusubi Shuzo was founded in 1893 in Kato City, Hyogo Prefecture, the heart of Kitaharima and Japan's most prized Yamada Nishiki growing region, and takes its name from two ancient oak trees behind the brewery that grew intertwined as one, a sign the founders interpreted as divine union. Since 2020, the president himself serves as chief brewer, overseeing entirely hand-crafted koji work without machinery, and in the 22 years from 1997, the brewery won nine gold medals at the National Sake Appraisal as well as a Monde Selection gold in 2009. Using 100 percent locally grown Yamada Nishiki and guided by the belief that exceptional rice makes exceptional sake, Kamimusubi stands as the only brewery in Kato City.
