酒名「麒麟」源於新潟縣東蒲原郡津川町建造的麒麟城,酒造於1873年創立。歷代藏主——前會長佐藤平八(農學博士)及現任社長佐藤俊一(農學博士)均曾擔任國稅局鑑定官,將深厚的釀造技術貫徹至釀酒的每個環節。在全國眾多酒造中,兩代親子皆以鑑定官身份從事釀酒指導者實屬罕見,該酒造以精湛技藝持續釀製順應時代的正統清酒。
