歷史

1673-1681
Founded during the Enpo era; the Terada family relocated their brewery from Omi (Shiga) to Kozaki, Chiba, and began sake production.
1901
Norio Terada (20th generation head), a poet and calligrapher, married into the family and later helped name the 'Gonin Musume' brand.
1952
The 22nd generation head, formerly a high school chemistry teacher, married into the Terada family and took over brewery leadership.
1980s
23rd generation head Keisuke Terada, prompted by his own illness, began pursuing natural sake brewing without pesticides or additives, leading to the creation of 'Gonin Musume'.
2013
Introduced a wooden koshiki (rice-steaming vessel) made by a craftsman in Osaka, continuing the brewery's commitment to traditional natural materials.
2016
Opened Cafe Ufufu, renovating an old apartment next to the brewery to share fermented cuisine using sake lees and koji.
2020
Switched to using 100% renewable electricity for the brewery's operations.
2021
Began the 'Fukuden Project', reclaiming long-abandoned rice paddies in a valley to grow rice for sake using natural spring water.
