Tokubetsu Junmaishu Yamatokozuchi is a special pure rice sake from Izawa Honke in Hyogo Prefecture, elevated to the tokubetsu designation through a higher polishing ratio or the use of a specified sake rice variety. As a junmai, no distilled alcohol is added, so the sake's character derives entirely from rice, koji, water, and yeast. Brewed in Hyogo, the heart of Japan's sake rice country, this expression draws on the region's abundant supply of premium Yamadanishiki.
