沿革

1. 1884The family relocated from Kyoto to Shimabara in the Edo period alongside lord Matsudaira Tadafusa and initially made vinegar, soy sauce, and wax before starting sake brewing in 1884 (Meiji 17).
2. 1917In 1917 (Taisho 6), the brewery received the nationwide No.1 rating at the National New Sake Awards.
3. 2012The brewery won the Gold Award at the National New Sake Awards for three consecutive years (2010-2012).
4. 2012At IWC 2012, the SAKE category (Honjozo division), the brand 'Fugendake' won a silver medal and was listed on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' sake procurement list, being sent to embassies and consulates worldwide.
5. 2016In autumn 2016 (Heisei 28), a sister-city agreement was signed between Chieti, Italy — hometown of Father Valignano, organizer of the Tensho embassy to Europe — and Minamishimabara City.
