Produced in 1989, the first year of the Heisei era, this vintage umeshu steeps fragrant Benisashi plums from Fukui Prefecture in aged sake from the same year with rock sugar. The base sake from this year is noted for its aromatic, full-bodied character, with a German newspaper selecting it as a best choice, qualities that carry into the plum liqueur.
