Kinenomine is brewed by KK Akanashuzou, a brewery located in Shimane Prefecture's Inan-cho, a mountain town where three breweries merged in 1929 under government consolidation policies. The brand name comes from the Kinukake-yama mountain near the brewery, whose morning mist was said to trail like silk, and the brewery has operated as a pure rice (junmai-only) producer since 2014. All rice is sourced from local Inan-cho farms, and the lineup is made to serve as a food accompaniment, particularly suited to warming.
