Description
Haiku is classified as a tokubetsu junmai — “tokubetsu” meaning “special” and referring to the extra care that goes into preparing the rice. The rice used to brew Haiku is polished up to 60% — a further 10% than our Traditional junmai. A more slow and carefully controlled fermentation gives Haiku a elegant fragrance and refined palate.

The mouthfeel is gentle and smooth, with a fruity character. The aftertaste carries a distinct aroma of rice. Given that it comes from a major sake brewery, my expectations weren't high, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's delightful to enjoy such high-quality sake at this price.
