De la brasserie
Fondée en 1899 dans la ville du canal d'Otaru, Tanaka Sake Brewery opère depuis plus d'un siècle en protégeant le sake local d'Otaru 'Takaragawa'. Le riz utilisé se distingue par ses '100 % Hokkaido'. Dans la zone de fabrication, le kuramotoza utilise le climat frais de Hokkaido pour préparer le sake toute l'année. La brasserie est ouverte à tout moment et propose des dégustations. Le bâtiment principal, une construction en bois datant de 1927, restauré au début de l'ère Showa, conserve de précieuses enseignes en bois permettant de retrouver l'atmosphère des anciennes boutiques de sake.

Histoire
1899
Founded in Otaru's Iro-nai district (present main store location) by first-generation Ichitaro Tanaka, originally from Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture.
1944
Under wartime controls, brewing operations were consolidated into Otaru Godo Shuzo Co., and the company continued in sales only.
1956
Tanaka Shuzo Co., Ltd. was formally established on July 4.
1988
Fourth-generation Kazuyoshi Tanaka became company president.
1989
The main store was renovated into a tourist-facing shop.
1995
The production facility was named Kikkogura and rebuilt as a tourable brewery.
1999
The company marked its 100th anniversary since founding.
2019
The company marked its 120th anniversary since founding.
