Amanoto, meaning door to heaven, is produced by Asamaishuzo, founded in 1917 in the Yokote Basin of Akita Prefecture, where soft natural spring water once praised by Edo-period folklorist Sugae Masumi feeds the brewery. Since 2011, the brewery has produced exclusively junmai sake using 100% rice from the Yokote Basin, guided by the philosophy that sake is born from rice paddies. The National Sake Appraisal Award gold medal five consecutive times, along with Amanoto's calm aroma, gentle sweetness, and deep rice umami, have made the brand a defining expression of Akita sake.
