Trayectoria

  1. 1804Ishidaya Nizaemon branched off from the Ishidaya main family and founded the sake brewing business in what is now Matsuoka-Kasuga, Eiheiji, Fukui.
  2. 1894Began operating as 'Mizuno Sake Brewery.' Records from this period mention the brand name 'Kokuryu,' named after 'Kokuryu-gawa,' an old name for the Kuzuryu River.
  3. 1959Launched 'Kuzuryu,' a sister brand to Kokuryu (the forerunner of today's Kuzuryu).
  4. 1963Reorganized as 'Kokuryu Shuzo Co., Ltd.'
  5. 1975Launched 'Kokuryu Daiginjo Ryu' and 'Kokuryu Icchorai.'
  6. 1994Completed the 'Ryusho-gura' brewing building.
  7. 2004Marked the brewery's 200th anniversary. Launched 'Kuzuryu Daiginjo Kanzake' and the sake-warming vessel 'Kantanoshi.'
  8. 2018Launched 'Muni.' Held the sake industry's first bidding auction for its products.
