Yumegokoro Shuzo was founded in 1877 in Kitakata, Fukushima Prefecture, and the brewery's name is said to have originated when the seventh-generation owner, exhausted from his dedication to brewing, had a dream visit from Asahi Inari, inspiring the name Yumegokoro, meaning heart of dreams. The brewery uses the Utsukushima Yume Yeast developed in Fukushima and locally grown Gohyakumangoku rice, staying closely connected to regional ingredients. Yumegokoro Shuzo is best known for its award-winning Naraman brand, whose Junmai has won gold medals for three consecutive years at the U.S. National Sake Appraisal.
