Makino Shuzo, founded in 1690 and recognized as the oldest sake brewery in Gunma Prefecture, has been producing Oosakezuki (大盃) from its base in Shibukawa City for over three centuries. The brewery crafts sake with a light and fragrant character while continuing to expand its expression — including the bold 'Macho' label series and a dedicated pasta-pairing sake called Oosakazuki Sake di Pasta, illustrating the brewery's willingness to connect tradition with contemporary food culture. In November 2024, Oosakezuki took the top prize (first place) in the junmai category at the 95th Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Evaluation.
