1869
Founded in 1869 (Meiji 2) when first-generation brewer Hanjuro Kamei began sake production.
1885
In 1885, second-generation brewer Kumejiro Kamei built the main house as the business expanded; the brand at the time was Kamenami.
1918
In 1918, fourth-generation brewer Akihiko Kamei named the brand Alps Masamune after the Japan Alps.
1954
In 1954, fifth-generation brewer Tadashi Kamei launched the Kamenoyo brand alongside the popularity of Kamikochi.
1995
In 1995, the direct-sales shop Shuyukan opened.
2018
In 2018, Daiichiro Murase became the seventh-generation brewer; the company converted from a partnership (gomei kaisha) to a joint-stock company and joined the Showa Concrete group.
2021
In 2021, won the top gold award in the Junmai Ginjo category at the Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau sake competition.
2023
In 2023, again won the top gold award in the Junmai Ginjo category at the Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau sake competition.
