Sawada Syuzo was established in 1830 in the western Nara Basin at the foot of sacred Mount Nijo, carrying on the centuries-old brewing tradition of Nara, one of Japan's oldest sake-producing regions. The brewery's philosophy is to remain faithful to fundamentals while transcending conventional thinking, producing all sake through small-batch fermentation with strict temperature control at every stage. Kankiko Junmai Ginjo Chiisanayorokobi won the highest gold medal in its category at the Wineglass Delicious Sake Awards 2021 and a Gold Medal at the IWC SAKE Competition 2021.
