Founder Tatsuya Kichizaemon dug a well on his residence grounds in Nishinomiya; the water proved pure and sweet, and he began sake brewing using it.
1894
The beautiful brick-built Shinden Jūban-gura (No. 10 storehouse), known as the 'Twin Kura,' was completed.
1920
Tanba toji brewer Umeda Tasaburo succeeded in a new brewing method, giving birth to the premium sake 'Kuromatsu Hakushika.'
1993
The 'Rokko-gura' storehouse was completed.
1995
The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake destroyed the Twin Kura.
