Geschichte

1603
In Keicho 8 (1603), Fukao Izuminokami Shigeyoshi was entrusted with the Sakawa domain (10,000 koku), and sake brewing began under the region's 'Osakaya' brewers, marking the origin of Tsukasabotan.
1918
In Taisho 7 (1918), the sake brewers of Sakawa united to establish the company as a modern corporation.
1930
In Showa 5 (1930), Prime Minister Osachi Hamaguchi, a native of Kochi, sent Tsukasabotan a note of praise calling it 'unrivaled in mellow richness' (houshun-muhi).
