1893
In 1893 (Meiji 26), the first-generation Hikojiro Yamamoto opened a sake brewery at the current location.
1980
On May 5, 1980, the company was renamed Chiyonobori Shuzo Godomeisha (partnership company).
1984
On December 26, 1984, the company obtained a Class B shochu manufacturing license and began producing chestnut shochu.
1987
On December 20, 1987, the company began selling junmai sake made with organically grown, pesticide-free rice.
1988
On October 1, 1988, Shimantogawa Shuzo Co., Ltd. was renamed Mutemuka Co., Ltd. (the current company name), absorbing Chiyonobori Shuzo Godomeisha.
1994
On March 23, 1994, the company launched the unfiltered, actively fermenting sake "Yabunotomo."
1996
On May 25, 1996, the company co-hosted a "rice growing and sake brewing experience classroom" with Taisho Town, which became an annual event thereafter.
1997
On July 1, 1997, the company began shipping "Mysterious Reserve," the long-term aged chestnut shochu ownership program that started storage in 1992.
