Murayu Shuzo was founded in 1948 in Kosudo, Niigata City, and operates as one of the prefecture's smallest breweries, producing just 200 koku annually. Rather than disclosing brewing specifications, the brewery lets the sake speak for itself, offering a style distinguished by fine, clear sweetness reminiscent of wasanbon sugar that deliberately breaks from Niigata's signature dry tradition.
