Kanhokuto Shuzo was established in 1729 in Kama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, giving it nearly three centuries of unbroken brewing history in northern Kyushu. The brewery earned First Prize at the National Sake Competition in 2008 with its Ginjo, and its Honjozo won gold at the Fukuoka Sake Competition in 2021. Kanhokuto sakes are noted for a mild aroma and rounded flavor that have cultivated a loyal local following across generations.
