A Akashi Sake Brewery Co., Ltd., fundada em Akashi, Prefeitura de Hyogo, em 1918, iniciou a produção de sake em 1960. Com o lema 'Álcool, risos e felicidade para todos', a cervejaria cria novos valores preservando a tradição. A partir de 2005, iniciou exportações com foco no mercado britânico e, desde então, expandiu para toda a Europa, incluindo a França. O sake é encontrado em lojas de luxo em Londres e em restaurantes estrelados ao redor do mundo.
