Brasserie officiellement liée au sanctuaire Munakata Taisha, dont la marque principale tire son nom du sanctuaire. Malgré la taille modeste de ses cinq entrepôts, elle utilise l'eau Shiroyama Fushin, riche en minéraux, et élabore son sake avec la passion sincère de ses créateurs.

Histoire

1790
The first-generation owner, Zenichi Yamamoto, began sake brewing under the name Katsuya, paying rice as annual tribute.
1873
Around 1873, during the tenure of the 4th-generation owner Yagoro Yamamoto, rioters from the Chikuzen Bamboo Spear Uprising stormed the brewery, forcing a temporary halt to production.
1926
The brewery was incorporated in 1926 as Katsuya Shuzo LLC.
2015
The main building and its brick chimney were registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property in 2015.
