- 1752Saburoemon Ota established Daishichi Sake Brewery (originally named "Oyama") in Nihonmatsu, Fukushima.
- 1928Daishichi sake was selected as the ceremonial sake for Emperor Showa's enthronement ceremony.
- 1938Daishichi won the top overall prize (first place nationwide) at the 16th National New Sake Competition.
- 1982The ninth-generation head launched "Daishichi Kimoto" as a standalone product for the first time, achieving major success.
- 2006Rice-polishing manager Yoshio Ogata was honored as a "Contemporary Master Craftsman" (Gendai no Meiko).
- 2016Current toji Takanobu Sato was honored as a "Contemporary Master Craftsman," making Daishichi the only brewery to produce Gendai no Meiko honorees in both the rice-polishing and brewing categories; the brewery also received the inaugural Fukushima Industry Award's top Governor's Prize.
- 2018Daishichi received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the 7th Monodukuri Nippon Grand Award, the highest such honor in the industry's history.
