Takenosono is produced by Yano Shuzo, founded in 1796 in Kashima, Saga Prefecture, where the ninth-generation owner serves as both president and toji. The brand name, meaning bamboo garden, was granted to carry the wish that the sake be as flexible and vital as bamboo, and the brewery is known in Saga for producing dry, refreshing sake using both local and nationally selected brewing rice.
