Tokuwaka is the flagship brand of Mandai Ohsawa Josou, a small brewery established in 2005 in the Nishinomiya district of Nada, one of Japan's most storied sake-producing regions. The brand name derives from a celebratory song lyric meaning 'may you remain ever youthful and flourish for generations,' and the sake is sold exclusively through the brewery's own retail channel as an uncut, undiluted genshu. Using Yamada Nishiki rice and bottling directly from the press with minimal filtration, Tokuwaka has cultivated a loyal following drawn to the clarity and concentrated flavor of its direct-from-kura style.
