Em Maezawa, Oshu, prefeitura de Iwate, a cervejaria que existe desde a era Meiji foi unificada em 1958. Desde 1993, a cervejaria trabalha com agricultores locais no cultivo contratado do arroz 'Kame-no-o', e desde 2017 todo o arroz utilizado e de variedades especificas de Iwate. Maezawa e conhecida pelos ingredientes de qualidade, como a famosa carne Maezawa, e a cervejaria busca criar sakes que harmonizem com esses ingredientes locais, explorando combinacoes entre sake e comida.

Sake production began; the brand 'Mutsu no Tomo' was born.
1955年(昭和30年)
Oikawa Shuzoten and Yoshida Shuzoten of former Maesawa Town jointly founded Iwate Meijo Co., Ltd.; the brand 'Iwatehomare' was born.
2005年(平成17年)
Opened the Tamanoharu plant and Senmaya sales office in Senmaya, Ichinoseki City, and began brewing and selling 'Tamanoharu'.
2008年(平成20年)
Acquired business rights from Tenpyo Co., Ltd. and began brewing and selling 'Tenpyo'.
2017年(平成29年)
Began overseas exports and launched the export-focused brand 'Oshu no Ryu'.
2023年(令和5年)
Launched 'Okuroku', a brand exclusive to authorized retailers.
