Senkonari

Himonoya Shuzoten, established in 1874 as the smallest of four breweries in Nihonmatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, brews Senkonari using water drawn from Mount Adatara and follows the centuries-old rule of producing sake only during winter. The brand name, meaning thousand merits, was inspired by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's battle standard of a thousand gourds, and the flagship daiginjo is pressed in a traditional wooden tank to yield a delicate, elegantly sweet sake with a gorgeous aroma.
