Koyasan

Koyasan was created in 1984 to mark the 1,150th memorial ceremony of the Buddhist monk Kobo Daishi at the sacred Mount Koya, and Tenchoushimamura Shuzo in Wakayama holds the registered trademark for the name. The brewery, founded in 1885, is one of only a handful in Japan granted special permission to present its flagship sake to the Imperial household, a practice it has maintained for nearly half a century.
