- 1856The "Sekizen Sake Shop" was founded, the historical root of sake brewing in Kazuno (its former main building is now a nationally registered tangible cultural property).
- 1872Chitosezakari Shuzo was founded (Meiji 5), initially brewing unrefined doburoku sake for the local community.
- 1905The main building of the former Sekizen Sake Shop was rebuilt (Meiji 38); its large open timber-frame structure, said to be among Japan's largest, still stands today.
- 1922The character "盛" (Sakari, meaning prosperity) was added to the brand name, completing the current name "Chitosezakari" (Taisho 11).
- 1938Received the top honor, the "Award of Honor," at the National Sake Competition (Showa 13).
