El capítulo americano de Ozeki comenzó en 1979 en Hollister, California, convirtiéndola en la primera cervecería de sake japonesa en producir sake localmente en los Estados Unidos, elegida por la calidad del arroz cultivado localmente y el acceso al agua clara de Sierra Nevada.
