Description

En 1979, Ozeki se convirtió en la primera brasserie japonesa en producir sake fresco en suelo americano, al abrir una instalación en Hollister, California, impulsada por el deseo de entregar sake draft sin pasteurizar a los consumidores estadounidenses antes de que el largo viaje transpacífico pudiera privarle de su vitalidad. La brasserie original de Ozeki fue fundada en Nada, Hyogo, en 1711, y la operación californiana continúa la tradición de Nada de sake seco y limpio, adecuado para maridar con comida. Karatamba se elabora en el estilo Tamba, en honor a los maestros cerveceros históricamente procedentes del norte de Hyogo, y registra un valor SMV de +7, una de las expresiones más secas de la gama, con una tasa de pulido del 70 % y un 15,5 % ABV. El nombre combina 'kara' (seco) con 'Tamba', anclando firmemente la identidad del sake en su linaje cervecero regional.

The color is clear and transparent, with a dry and smooth mouthfeel. The aroma is not too strong and has no distinctive quirks. While there are moments when the alcohol is slightly noticeable, which may lead to mixed opinions, personally, I find it doesn’t interfere with meals, making it easy to keep drinking. I’d position it as a drink that pairs well with any type of food.
