History

1853
Matajiro began sake brewing in 1853 (Kaei 6), the founding of the family's sake business in Bancho, Yamatokoriyama.
1856
He became independent in 1856 (Ansei 3) and set up his own household across the street.
1858
In 1858 (Ansei 5) he became an official merchant of the Yanagisawa domain, was granted the right to bear a surname, and took the name Nakatani.
1996
Released the sake 'Toyotomi Hidenaga' to coincide with the broadcast of the NHK historical drama 'Hideyoshi'.
2003
Won the gold award at the National New Sake Appraisal (Zenkoku Shinshu Kanpyokai).
2011
Won the gold award at the National New Sake Appraisal.
2014
Won the gold award at the National New Sake Appraisal.
2026
Renewed and relaunched the sake 'Toyotomi Hidenaga' (60% rice polishing, Junmai Ginjo, brewed via the affiliate in Tianjin, China) to coincide with the NHK historical drama 'Toyotomi Brothers!'.
