Minami Shuzojo has brewed sake in Yasuda-cho, Kochi Prefecture since the Edo period, when the Minami family operated as merchants in this coastal mountain town where the Yasuda River runs so clear it supports natural ayu sweetfish, earning the brewery's water source the name Tamanoi, fountain like a jewel. Current kuramoto Sadaharu Minami launched the Minami brand in 1998 with the ambition to produce sake worthy of national attention, maintaining an annual output of just 300 goku with a style defined by vivid aroma, strong umami, and a clean, sharp finish.
