Inada Shuzo was established in 1877 in Nara Prefecture and has spent over 130 years pursuing sake made from local rice, local water, and local people. The brewery's Kuromatsuinaten brand is designed around the philosophy that sake is best enjoyed alongside food, and most output is distributed exclusively through directly managed stores in the region. Traditional brewing methods are honored while modern technology is selectively adopted, reflecting a belief that a meaningful connection between producer, merchant, and customer gives sake its true worth.
