Honshuichi is brewed by Umeda Sake Brewery, a small brewery established in 1916 in Hiroshima City's eastern Funakoshi district, drawing water from a well sunk 60 meters into the bedrock of nearby Iwatakiyama. The brewery focuses on 100% Hiroshima-grown Senbon Nishiki rice, releasing its sake unfiltered to preserve raw flavor, and has earned gold recognition at both the French Kura Master competition and the London International Wine Challenge.
