Arimitsu Sake Brewery was founded in 1903 in Aki City, Kochi Prefecture, at the confluence of the Akano River and the sea, a location that provides exceptionally pure water and produces sake described as round and smooth. The fermentation facility itself has an even older history, built during the Edo period and continuously refined across generations, with the current brewers approaching their work in a spirit the brewery describes as both adventurous and joyful. Akitora, meaning tiger of Aki, reflects the regional pride of Kochi's food and sake culture, and the brand has received Silver at CINVE 2023 and Platinum at Kura Master 2017.
