  1. 1790In 1790 (Kansei 2), founder Yorozuya Hachigoro opened the brewery on its current site, launching the sake brand "Ichiriki Masamune."
  2. 1933In 1933 (Showa 8), poets Yosano Tekkan and Akiko visited the brewery; a tanka poem they composed inspired the sixth-generation owner to rename the brand "Shunnoten."
  3. 1952In 1952 (Showa 27), seventh-generation owner Heiichiro incorporated the brewery as Yorozuya Shuzoten Co., Ltd.
  4. 1976In 1976 (Showa 51), the brewery completely stopped producing sugar-added "sanzoshu" sake.
  5. 1978In 1978 (Showa 53), the brewery released "Junmai Ginjo Shunnoten," an uncommon style for the time.
  6. 1979In 1979 (Showa 54), the brewery released "Junmai Ginjo Fugaku," pursuing even higher-quality junmai sake.
  7. 1989In 1989 (Heisei 1), a new brewery building was completed, and the eighth-generation owner began cultivating the sake rice variety "Tamasakae" with local farmers.
  8. 2022In 2022 (Reiwa 4), the brewery completed "Migaki 40 233," a junmai daiginjo made from locally grown Yamada Nishiki rice milled to 40%.
