In the Takano Kaido Hayatsuki Valley, which is related to Kukai, Iwashimizu, which was found by Kobo Daishi, sprung up, and one day, people began to call it a longevity of the longevity.
The first generation Takagaki Matamon gave the idea of brewing sake from this mellow spirit water, and started a liquor store. Tempo 11 years (1840).
Since then, it has been supported by traditional technologies and has been maintained as a local sake of Kishu and Arita, keeping a simple handmade taste.
