Founded in 1874 in the historic Tsuyazaki Sengen district of Fukutsu, Fukuoka, Toyomura Shuzo once commanded the largest brewing output in Fukuoka Prefecture during the Meiji era. The brewery's former production facilities, including a 21-meter chimney that still stands as a local landmark, have been designated a national Important Cultural Property. Toyosakari is brewed in this storied setting, carrying forward the regional sake-making traditions of coastal Fukuoka.
