KatanoSakura is brewed by Yamanoshuzo, located in Katano, Osaka, at the historic intersection of Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara, a place treasured since the Heian period as a famous cherry blossom viewing site for the imperial court. The brewery is known for its commitment to traditional yamahai fermentation without added lactic acid, releasing most of its sake as nama (unpasteurized) genshu, and has won seven gold medals at the National New Sake Evaluation Competition between 2010 and 2021.
