Sake Brand

Hananotsuyu

Hananotsuyu is brewed by a brewery of the same name founded in 1745 in Kojiro-machi, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, making it the oldest established sake brewery in the Kojiro brewing district. The brand name is drawn from classical Chinese poetry in which flower dew (hana no tsuyu) is used as an elegant metaphor for fine sake. Brewed with soft water drawn from the Chikugo River, the sake is known for a gentle, full-bodied character sometimes described as women's sake (onnaishi), and has earned top honors including the highest prize in the national pure rice sake competition and a Gold at Kura Master 2020 in Paris.
