Yukawa Shuzoten was established in 1650 in the inn town of Yabuhara at the foot of Torii Pass on the historic Kiso Kaido Road in Nagano Prefecture, making it the second oldest active brewery in the prefecture. The brand name Jurokudai Kuroemon (16th Generation Kuroemon) honors sixteen generations of the Yukawa family, whose unbroken stewardship of the brewery stretches over 370 years in the Kiso Valley. Its lineup spans yamahai-method junmai, low-alcohol variants, and namazake, all expressing the mountain terroir of the Kiso region.
