- 1967Founded as Gokase Shuzo Co., Ltd. in November 1967 (Showa 42); this marked the start of Unkai Shuzo's history.
- 1978Completed the head office plant, now the Gokase brewery, in September; reorganized and renamed the company to Unkai Shuzo Co., Ltd. in October 1978 (Showa 53).
- 1984Established the Miyazaki plant, now the Takaoka brewery, and launched the mugi shochu 'Iitomo' in June 1984 (Showa 59).
- 1985Completed the Aya plant, now the Aya brewery, in December 1985 (Showa 60).
- 1986Began producing and selling sake in March 1986 (Showa 61).
- 1989Opened the industrial tourism facility 'Kuramoto Aya Shusen no Mori' in November 1989 (Heisei 1).
- 2000Established the Kagoshima plant, now the Izumi brewery, in March 2000 (Heisei 12).
- 2014Opened the visitor facility 'Aya Shizengura Kengakukan' in November 2014 (Heisei 26).
